Hedzup Youth Development Project

HedzupThe project started in 2009 with the aim of enabling young people to take part in a new and exciting project to allow them to work with others to improve their self confidence and life ambitions.

Through their personal development and attainment of real life skills such as trust, self confidence we develop a greater sense of right and wrong. This is through the setting of boundaries and working for the benefit of the team to achieve attainable goals.

This is throughthe formation of a motorcycle road racing team to attain these genuine and usable life skills which may, for whatever reason at the moment, be passing them by.

They are also involved in seeking sponsorship from businesses and communities.
This  encourages improvement in literacy, numeracy and communication skills giving experience inpreparing both mentally and physically for interviews. It lets them see how important it is to be able to work with others and the significance of communicating, listening, discussing and meeting deadlines. As part of the pit crew on race days they will be under pressure to listen and communicate with the rider needing changes made with only a short time to do it.
